What does the fourth day actually add?
Rinca, a free afternoon, and four or five extra snorkel sites, including Batu Bolong and Siaba. The 3D2N runs Padar, Pink Beach, Komodo, Manta Point and Gili Lawa and then turns for home. Over four days the same stops are spread out enough that you are not moving between them all day.
Komodo or Rinca for seeing dragons?
Rinca, on the numbers. It holds a denser population and the ranger loop at Loh Buaya passes where they gather, so sightings are close to reliable. Komodo Island is the bigger name and the walk is through better scenery. This trip does both, which is the honest reason to take four days over three.
Is there internet on board?
On one of the three, yes. That boat carries Starlink, which works out in the park where the mobile network does not reach. The other two have phone signal near Labuan Bajo and nothing past Kalong. Tell us if it matters and we will put you on the one that has it.
How rough is the crossing?
Inside the park it is sheltered most of the year. The channels between islands run hard tidal current rather than swell, so the motion is more push than roll. January and February bring the west monsoon and the boats reroute to the lee side of the islands, which changes the order of stops but not the stops themselves.
Can we get the boat to ourselves?
Yes. Every vessel on this trip also charters whole, which for a group of eight or more usually works out close to the per-person open trip rate and gets you the itinerary you want rather than the published one. Ask and we will price both.
What is the park fee for four days?
Around IDR 900,000 per foreign visitor when the trip lands on both Komodo and Rinca, which this one does. It is built from marine park entry of IDR 250,000 per person per day, a harbour fee of IDR 25,000, and ranger trekking charged per group of five rather than per head. Indonesian citizens pay about IDR 300,000. Since April 2026 it must be pre-booked through the park's SiOra system and we register your group when you confirm.
