Refund and Cancellation Policy
We want every booking to be a good experience — including the part where plans change. This page sets out exactly when you get a refund, how much, and how the process works. Anything stricter or more flexible for a specific tour is stated on that tour page.

48-hour free cancellation
You can cancel any booking within 48 hours of confirmation for a full refund, as long as the tour starts more than 7 days after that 48-hour window ends. This is our standard free-look period.
Standard cancellation schedule
For tours under our standard policy, refunds depend on how many days before departure you cancel:
More than 30 days before: 90% refund (we keep a 10% admin fee to cover operator pre-booking costs).
15 to 30 days before: 50% refund.
7 to 14 days before: 25% refund.
Less than 7 days before, or no-show: no refund.
The day you book and the day you depart are excluded from the count.
Stricter policies for special trips
Some trips have different terms because the operator pre-pays significant costs that cannot be recovered. These are always shown on the tour page before you book:
Liveaboards and charters: typically 50% non-refundable from booking, 100% non-refundable 30 days before sailing.
Festival-week tours (Galungan, Nyepi, Idul Fitri windows): 50% non-refundable at booking.
Private-guide multi-day trips: tour-page terms.
If the tour page doesn't mention a stricter policy, the standard schedule above applies.
When we cancel
If we or the operator have to cancel because of weather, safety, government restrictions, or any other force majeure event, you get a full refund OR a 110% credit toward a future trip — your choice. We notify you as soon as we know.
Trip changes mid-trip
If a trip is materially shortened or a major included activity is dropped after you arrive, the operator will discuss compensation with you on the spot. If you cannot agree, contact us within 14 days of trip end and we will mediate.
How to cancel
Email info@asiktravel.com with your booking reference, or message us on WhatsApp. The cancellation timestamp is when we receive your message, not when we reply. We confirm within 24 hours.
How refunds reach you
Refunds go back to your original payment method — PayPal refunds appear within 5 business days, Wise refunds within 5 to 10 business days. We pay any standard refund fees; you only see the cost of the trip portion that is non-refundable per these terms.
For Russian customers who paid via alternate routing, refunds use the same channel we used to receive your payment.
Changes by you
You can move a confirmed booking to a different date once for free, as long as we have at least 14 days' notice and the operator has availability. Further changes follow the cancellation schedule above.
Insurance
We strongly recommend travel insurance covering cancellation, medical, and evacuation. Many reasons we cannot refund (illness, missed flight, family emergency, visa refusal) are covered by standard travel insurance.
EU consumer rights
If you book from the EU, Iceland, Norway or Liechtenstein, the EU Package Travel Directive may give you stronger rights — particularly the right to terminate without paying any termination fee in case of unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances at the destination. Nothing in this policy reduces those rights.
