Waterbom Bali is a large, well-run waterpark in the middle of Kuta, consistently rated among Asia's best. It packs a range of slides into landscaped tropical gardens, from gentle lazy-river floats to steep drop-capsule rides like the Climax and the high-speed Boomerang, so it works for both families and thrill-seekers.
The park is clean and professionally managed, with lifeguards, lockers, cabanas, and a decent spread of food and drink. It is a full day out, and an easy rain-or-shine alternative to the beach for families or groups.
It is a commercial day attraction with an entry fee on the higher side for Bali, and it gets busy in peak season and on weekends, but the upkeep generally justifies it.
Getting there
Waterbom sits on Jalan Kartika Plaza in Kuta, walking distance from many Kuta hotels and about 10 minutes from the airport. From elsewhere in the Seminyak-Kuta area it is a short scooter, Grab, or taxi ride. There is on-site parking.
Best time
Arrive at opening (usually around 9am) to ride the popular slides before the queues build, especially in high season and on weekends. Weekdays are quieter, and the park runs through Bali's wet season too.
