A lakeside food park where vendors sell snacks from boats, paid for with token coins.
Floating Market Lembang is a purpose-built leisure park around a small lake in the cool Lembang highlands north of Bandung. The signature feature is a row of wooden boats moored along the water from which vendors sell Indonesian street snacks and drinks. To buy anything you first swap cash for the park's own token coins at a counter, since the boat sellers do not take regular money or cards.
Beyond the food boats it is a family-oriented complex with gardens, a koi pond, paddle boats and canoes for hire, a mini market, and various paid photo and play areas.
It is polished and a bit theme-park in feel rather than a traditional market, and it gets crowded with domestic visitors on weekends and school holidays.
Getting there
Floating Market Lembang is about 20 km north of Bandung in Lembang, roughly 1 to 1.5 hours by car, much longer in heavy Lembang weekend traffic. Most visitors arrive by private car, taxi, or tour. There is a large car park at the entrance.
Best time
Go on a weekday morning for cooler air, a calmer lakeside, and lighter traffic on the Lembang road. Weekends and holidays are very busy. The dry season keeps the gardens and boat areas pleasant.
Good to know
Buy the token coins at the counter when you arrive so you can actually order from the food boats, and any unused coins can usually be refunded before you leave. The entrance ticket is modest and can often be exchanged for a drink; bring cash for the extra paid activities inside.
The boat vendors only accept the park's own token coins, not cash or cards. You exchange money for coins at a counter on arrival and can refund leftover coins before leaving.
The entry ticket is low (roughly IDR 20,000 to 35,000, as of 2025) and is often redeemable for a welcome drink. Activities like boat rental and photo spots cost extra.
Yes, it is built around families, with gardens, paddle boats, a koi pond, and play areas alongside the food. It is more of a leisure park than an authentic traditional market.
