A rare Lembeh site that mixes a small coral wall with a critter-rich sand slope.
Nudi Falls is the odd one out in Lembeh, and that is exactly why it is on nearly every itinerary. It starts on a sheer rock wall hung with gorgonians and soft coral, then breaks into a rock pile, then a sand slope, then a channel of rubble with large soft corals from around 20 metres down. So you get structure, colour and macro on the same dive, rather than the flat black sand of the classic muck sites. Operators publish the maximum depth variously between 20 and 27 metres depending on whether they mean the sand or the foot of the wall.
The name refers to the nudibranchs that seem to tumble down the wall, knocked loose by divers' bubbles from above, and they are genuinely everywhere in odd shapes and colours. It is also the strongest site in the group for pygmy seahorses. One dive database records seven pygmies on a single Muricella gorgonian, and another source describes a known fan under an overhang at around 14 metres holding Hippocampus bargibanti with the numbers varying by season. That is about as reliable as a muck site gets, but no operator publishes a hit rate, so treat it as resident and routinely shown rather than guaranteed.
The wall is exposed, and one Lembeh operator says openly that Nudi Falls can carry relatively strong current at times, in which case guides keep divers on the wall and off the sand slope. It is also the only one of the strait's headline sites that resorts list as suitable for snorkelling as well as diving, and it has a reputation for night dives.

Nudi Falls sits mid strait on the mainland side, north of Tandu Rusa village, so reaching it means flying into Manado (MDC), driving to Bitung and crossing by resort boat. The drive now takes roughly 40 minutes rather than the 90 minutes or more many dive pages still quote, because the Manado to Bitung toll road was completed in February 2022. From one resort on the strait the site is a seven minute boat ride, which is why it appears on so many schedules. It is dived as a guided boat dive. No Lembeh Strait conservation or user fee could be verified for 2025 or 2026 from operator rate pages or Indonesian language sources, so unlike Bunaken there is no park levy to budget for on top of your dive package.

Diveable all year. The critters in the strait are not seasonal, and what changes is the surface: roughly January to June is wetter but flatter, July to December drier topside but windier. For Nudi Falls specifically the tide matters more than the month, because this is the most exposed of the popular sites, so ask for a slack water slot if you want minimal current on the wall. Water is around 26 to 29 degrees year round.

Ask your guide to show you the resident gorgonian rather than hunting for pygmy seahorses yourself. They are a few millimetres across, perfectly matched to the fan, and a good spotter is the whole difference. Never grab a fan to steady yourself against the current, which is the single most common way divers damage this site. Get your buoyancy right before dropping onto the wall, watch the current on the exposed sections, and if it picks up expect your guide to keep the group high on the wall and away from the soft coral fields below. It is also one of the better night dives in the strait if your resort offers one.
