A round cliff-walled cove with a natural rock arch the sea flows through.
Pasih Uug, known to visitors as Broken Beach, is a near-circular bowl of cliff with the sea running into it through a natural arch at the bottom. A sea cave collapsed and left its roof standing over the entrance, so the ocean flows in and out of a bay that has no landward access at all. Standing on the rim you look down a long way onto turquoise water turning slowly through the tunnel.
There is no beach. The name is a translation that stuck, and every day people arrive expecting sand and find a fenced clifftop path. That path loops the whole rim in about fifteen to twenty minutes over uneven ground with essentially no shade.
Manta rays pass through the bay below with some regularity, and that is the reward for standing still for ten minutes rather than taking two photographs and walking off. Calm, clear mornings give the best odds, and turtles come through as well. Nothing about it is guaranteed.
Angel's Billabong is a two-minute walk away and shares the car park and the fee, so treat the pair as one stop rather than two. Together they take under an hour, which is the honest answer to how much time to allow, and most tours build them into a west-coast loop with Kelingking. Where people come to harm here is at the edge. Some sections are fenced and others are not, the limestone crumbles, and there have been fatal falls from these cliffs. The photograph taken beyond the railing is not worth what it occasionally costs.

如何到达
From Toyapakeh harbour it is roughly 45 minutes west by car with driver or by scooter, almost always as part of a loop with Angel's Billabong and Kelingking. Park at the shared lot and follow the path to the clifftop; it is a few minutes' walk in over rough ground. One small access charge covers both Broken Beach and Angel's Billabong, and it has been low in recent years, a few thousand rupiah rather than tens of thousands. As across the Nusa islands since 2025, collection is shifting to card and e-ticket alongside the roughly IDR 25,000 per adult retribution levy, so carry both a card and small notes.
最佳时节
Mornings are cooler, less crowded and give kinder light into the cove, and they are also when mantas are most likely to be visible below. The dry season, April to October, brings the calmest, clearest water in the bay. Midday is the worst of both worlds: the day-trip vans arrive from Kelingking and there is no shade anywhere on the loop.
实用贴士
Walk the full rim rather than stopping at the first viewpoint, since the arch reads quite differently from the far side and the loop only takes fifteen to twenty minutes. Wear proper shoes; the path is uneven limestone and gets slippery when damp. Stay behind the fencing where it exists and well back where it does not. The rock at the lip is undercut and crumbly and people have died falling from here. Bring a hat, sun cream and water, and pair the stop with Angel's Billabong next door rather than treating them as separate visits.
No. There is no sand and no way down to the water. The attraction is the collapsed sea cave, the natural arch and the cliff-ringed cove seen from the walking loop along the rim.
Sometimes. Mantas drift through the cove below and are visible from the rim on calm, clear days, most often in the morning. Turtles pass through too. It is luck rather than a scheduled event, so give it ten quiet minutes.
Under an hour for both. They are a two-minute walk apart and share a car park and entrance fee. The Broken Beach rim loop takes fifteen to twenty minutes and Angel's Billabong needs less.
A single small local access charge covers both Broken Beach and Angel's Billabong, and it has been modest in recent years. It is separate from the Nusa islands retribution levy of around IDR 25,000 per adult as of 2026, and payment is moving to card and e-ticket.
The cove itself is only viewed from above, but the cliff edge is the real hazard. Fencing is partial, the limestone is undercut and crumbly, and there have been fatal falls. Stay back from unfenced sections and do not climb out for photographs.
