A Komodo boat charter means your group hires the whole boat and crew from Labuan Bajo, with nobody else aboard. With us it starts at IDR 45,000,000 (about $2,520) for three days and two nights on the Giona with one to five guests, or IDR 52,000,000 for ten. A two-day charter on the Akassa is IDR 56,500,000 for up to four guests, or IDR 64,000,000 for five to ten.

Those prices are per boat, not per person, and they come from our tour pages in October 2026. Park fees and flights are extra.

How Komodo boat charter prices work

A charter has one price for the boat. The crew, the fuel and the galley cost the same whether two of you sail or ten, so every extra guest lowers what each person pays, until the boat is full.

Compare that with a shared trip, where the cheapest berth is IDR 6,000,000 per person for three days. A couple pays far more for a boat of their own. A group of ten on the Akassa pays about the same as ten shared berths. Our Komodo trip cost guide has the shared-cabin prices tier by tier.

What you decide on a private boat

The three-day private phinisi charter runs on one of three boats for 3 days and 2 nights: the Giona from IDR 45,000,000, the Derya from IDR 62,000,000 and the Akassa from IDR 70,000,000. Its published itinerary is a suggestion. You choose when the day starts and whether the 04:30 call for the Padar sunrise happens at all. On the first evening you pick between Padar at golden hour and the bats at Kalong.

Common requests are skipping the early start, adding a freediving spot or swapping an island for a fishing village. We send a proposed route for your group and you mark it up. Tell us early about a proposal, a wedding or a birthday, because flowers, a photographer and a private cove take planning.

Labuan Bajo, Flores

The whole phinisi, on your schedule

Three days with Padar, the dragons at Loh Liang, Pink Beach, Manta Point and a reef at Pengah, in the order that suits your group. Meals, crew and harbour transfers included.

The Akassa: chartered whole, never shared

The Akassa is 25 metres with three suites, so a charter is ten guests at most and usually four or six. Two days on the Akassa covers Kelor, Manjarite and the bats at Kalong on day one, then Padar before sunrise, the dragons at Komodo Village, Pink Beach and Manta Point, and is back alongside at 16:00.

The four-day Akassa charter keeps going north to Gili Lawa Darat for a 30-minute climb, spends an afternoon on the reefs at Sebayur and Kanawa and ends at Rangko Cave, a flooded limestone chamber you swim in.

What the charter price covers

The boat, the crew and an English-speaking guide, every meal, drinking water, coffee and tea, snorkel gear and the transfer between your hotel or the airport and the harbour. The three-day charter also carries a paddleboard and a canoe.

Not covered: Komodo National Park fees, flights, alcohol and tips. Park entry is IDR 250,000 per person per day for foreign visitors, and the ranger fee is charged per group of up to five, so a small private group carries more of it per head than a full shared boat does.

Book the Akassa early

The Akassa is one boat with three suites, and whole-boat dates are usually booked one to two years ahead. If your dates are fixed, ask before you buy flights. Its cancellation terms are stricter than on the Ballona and Elbark trip.

Charter or shared cabin

Take a shared cabin if there are two of you and you are happy with a set timetable. Charter if you are a family, a group of friends, or anyone who wants to stay longer at one site. Our liveaboard versus day trip comparison covers the third option, one long day by speedboat.

常見問題

How much does a Komodo boat charter cost?

From IDR 45,000,000 (about $2,520) for the whole Giona for three days and two nights with one to five guests, or IDR 52,000,000 for ten. The Akassa is IDR 56,500,000 for two days with up to four guests, or IDR 64,000,000 for five to ten. Park fees, flights and tips are extra.

Is a Komodo private tour worth it for two people?

Only if privacy matters more than price. A charter costs the same for two guests as for a full boat, so a couple pays several times the IDR 6,000,000 per person of a shared berth. For four or more the gap narrows, and at ten guests on the Akassa it nearly closes.

How many people can join a private boat charter in Komodo?

Our three-day charter is IDR 45,000,000 on the Giona for one to five guests and IDR 52,000,000 for ten. The Akassa has three suites and takes ten at most: two of the suites each fit two extra beds. Tell us the size of your group first and we will match the boat to it before quoting.

Can we change the route on a private Komodo charter?

Yes, within reason. The published itinerary is a starting point. Groups often skip the 04:30 Padar start, add a freediving spot or swap an island for a fishing village. The captain still reorders stops for weather and tide, and the harbour master can stop sailings on any day.

How far ahead should I book a Komodo boat charter?

As early as you can. The Akassa is a single boat with three suites, and its whole-boat dates are usually booked one to two years ahead. Our other charter needs at least two days' notice, but the park's dated SiOra slots go early in July and August.
